In writing a blog there’s a desire to preserve a thought or the memory of a moment, so it’s only fitting that I write a post to remember J-actor Miura Haruma‘s most well known works from his very early breakouts all the way to his most recent projects. He was a child actor who started acting at 7 years old and got his first break as the male lead in the J-movie adaptation of popular cellphone novel Koizora opposite Aragaki Yui. The two were actual teens when they filmed it, the same age as the characters in high school, and reportedly dated for a few years in real life afterwards. He went on to popular franchises of Gokusen and Crows Zero, being tin more manga adaptations such as Kimi ni Todoke, Attack on Titan, and Gintama. He also did serious and darker fare like Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta (You Taught Me All the Precious Things) and Never Let Me Go, and fun stuff like Last Cinderella and Confidence Man. I’m going to miss him so so much onscreen and hope that he’s like where his character Hiro in Koizora believes where he will be after passing on, in the sky looking down at the people he loves. May this beautiful young man be at peace.
